Water Diet - Fact or Fiction?

Water Diet- How to Do a Pure Water Diet

From:  http://www.waterdiets.org/

The water diet has gained popularity over the last couple of years. Are you looking for a cheap diet, a healthy diet? We will cover in this short article what the water diet is, what you can expect when being on a water diet and what the benefits of a water diet are.

Benefits of a Water Diet

Our modern times bring a lot of unhealthy foods with them- often stuff accumulates in your colon, you might get digestion problems of all sorts and need of a healthy way to flush things. The water diet is perfect for that. The water will act as a colon cleanser and the colon cleanse will make things down there much easier. In the long run this helps to lose weight too.

Flushing of Toxins on a Water Diet

Due to the amount of water you drink on a water diet your kidneys get a lot to do. They will filter your blood stream much more efficiently if there is enough liquids to work on. So the water diet will really help you to get rid of toxins and cleanse your body.

Also, particularly in how weather, you might sweat a bit more. This is actually a good sign. What many don’t know: The skin is an excretion organ, and when you are sweating along with your sweat quite a few of undesired substances leave your body. This is a bonus of a water diet.

Water Diet- How to Do a Water Diet

The water diet is one of the easiest diets to lose weight you can do. All what is required is that you drink 8 glasses of HEALTHY water each day- a glass should have 8 oz. This gives you 2 quarts of water per day. Although, the water should be cold.

Drinking Cold Water on a Water Diet

Since you drink cold water on a water diet, your body needs to heat the water up to your body temperature. It needs to burn calories for this helping you to lose weight. The effect is not big, but should amount to approximately a weight loss rate of half a pound per month. So this is not enough to make you lose a significant amount of weight, but combined with other measures to lose weight it will help.

Health Advice Substantiating a Water Diet

You’ve probably heard it before: You need to drink 2 quarts of water every day to have your body function properly. This is exactly what the water diet says: Drink enough water, so your body gets healthy and can get rid of toxins, making it easier for you to lose weight.

Shortcomings of the Water Diet

The water diet in itself does not restrict your calorie intake, does not prescribe exercise and does not lead you to eating healthy foods. So the water diet alone will probably not help you much when you want to lose weight. If you really want to lose weight you need to combine the water diet with portion control, healthy eating habits and enough physical exercise.
Also, you will probably have more “bathroom stops”. What is actually a good sign because it means that your kidneys are working and filtering toxins from your body.

Water Diet- More Advantages

First of all, the water diet is cheap. You could even use tap water (although I recommend filtered or bottled water because tap water often contains chemicals).
Second, the amount of water you drink will increase your sense of fullness, so you won’t eat that much. This is best achieved if you follow the “3 glasses per meal” rule: One glass of water before meal, one glass during the meal, one glass of water after a meal. Doing this will help you to lose weight.
Third, you’ll prevent kidney stones- This are quite common in people who do not drink enough (besides coffee).

Speaking of other liquids: No, the water can not be substituted by other liquids. Particularly not by anything containing caffeine (coffee, tea, energy drinks etc.) or alcohol (beer, wine, etc.). In fact, if you drink alcohol you need to make up every glass of alcohol with a glass of water (which does not count towards your 8 glasses a day goal when you are on a water diet).
Alcohol is a no-no when you want to lose weight anyway due to it’s high energy content.

As always, consult with your health care professional or doctor first before starting any diet, including the water diet.

It is critical that you drink a pure, healthy water because you want to elmininate toxins not add more.

Carpooling: Is it Worth It?

Earthdaykit-2011
Whether you are using concentrated green cleaners or carpooling to help the environment doesn't matter.  The important thing is that you are doing something.  The more the better.

Sustainable transport and carpooling:   Sustainable transport is the idea of replacing the current transport system with fuel-efficient, environmentally-friendly alternatives.  Walking and using hybrids or electric cars are some forms.  If one of these ideas is not feasible, try carpooling, which saves on gas and car maintenance, lowers emissions and saves money (which we all could use with gas prices the way they are today).  Ask your neighbors, friends and co-workers to create a carpool schedule.  Plus, you can meet new people and catch up with others on the way to work.

Also, If you'd like to take advantage of the best concentrated, green cleaners plus receive a FREE discount membership with no hassles:  Go Green & Save Your Green (money that is), contact us at HealthandHarmony@comcast.net for your $30 (typically about $40 with shipping, handling, and tax)  green cleaning basket plus FREE membership.  Hurry though, because the offer expires May 20, 2011.
